Fun in Whitefish

Montana: Get Lost

We have listed a few activities that the wonderful area has to offer. The quaint town has many clothing, souvenir and antique shops for you to enjoy. The Continental Divide makes for unpredictable weather, so dress accordingly.
Restaurants we love include Wasabi Sushi Bar, Ciao Mambo, The Buffalo Cafe, and Folklore coffee to start your morning. Bars we recommend are the Spotted Bear Distillery, Latitude 48, and check out the bathrooms in the Bulldog Saloon. We encourage you to get outside and enjoy the Big Sky Country!
Montana is not under a government mandated mask ordinance. COVID restrictions and masking policies vary widely in Whitefish.

Golf

It wouldn’t be wedding season, and Father’s Day weekend, without some golf. Although neither of us golf, rumor has it The Whitefish Lake Golf Club is the only 36-hole golf course in the area with all the amenities of a world-class resort course, featuring exceptional lake and mountain views only minutes from downtown.

Glacier National Park

With West Glacier being about a 40 minute drive, Whitefish is close proximity to Glacier National Park. The historic Going to the Sun highway will not be fully open until after our wedding.
New to 2021-park entry now requires a reservation. If Glacier National Park is on your bucket list, then we recommend attempting to get a reservations 2 days prior to your arrival at 8 am MDT exactly. Your reservation will be good for seven days. These reservations sell out fast within 1 to 2 minutes! GNP is beautiful and we encourage people to visit, but after 5 pm when you no longer require a reservation. You can explore from West Glacier to Avalanche. One loophole we found is booking a boat tour with Glacier Park Boat Company at Lake McDonald to ensure a park reservation. This can be confusing so visit the following websites to educate yourself on the new policies
Reservation FAQs

On your way to the park, stop in the town of Corum and do a tasting at Glacier Distillery. We recommend sampling one of their Moscow Mules!

Rafting-Whitewater rafting, fishing, or kayak trips on the rivers that border Glacier National Park. Take on the Middle Fork’s family-friendly class II-III whitewater or appreciate the stunning river canyon on a peaceful, leisurely float without the whitewater. Half day and full day Flathead river rafting trips depart from West Glacier.
